Partnering on a European Level to Advance Stem Cell Research

Welcome to FunGenES

This website is dedicated to the dissemination of information about the European research project FunGenES ("Functional Genomics in Embryonic Stem Cells").
FunGenES is a research programme carried out on mouse embryonic stem cells with the aim to improve our understanding of cellular self-renewal and differentiation processes into tissue-specific cells.
The website contains general knowledge about stem cell research and related issues such as ethics in stem cell related research, and more detailed information about the specific scope and objectives of the FunGenES project.
A brochure containing a general project description in PDF format is available for download in the section "Publications".

     FunGenES Scientific Conference

The European project FunGenES (« Functional Genomics in Embryonic Stem Cells ») will organize a scientific conference on 24-26 November 2007 to present the results obtained after almost 4 years of collaboration between 18 renowned laboratories across Europe. This event will take place in the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg (Germany) and will be structured around the following 5 themes: Technology, Self-Renewal of embryonic stem cells, as well as ectodermal, endodermal and mesodermal lineages.
For additional information regarding this event, please refer to the following link FunGenES conference. The deadline for registration is 21 October 2007.
